Creating an iconic destination in Southern India
- Based on its ethos of ‘Responsible Luxury’, ITC’s upcoming hotel project in Chennai, ITC Grand Chola is slated to alter the landscape of the city forever. South India’s largest integrated up-market hotel complex, the ITC Grand Chola will have 600 well-appointed rooms (including 80 service apartments), 9 food and beverage outlets, 32,000 square feet of retail space and 60,000 square feet of conference and exhibition facilities.
- ITC’s signature hotels in different parts of the country are inspired by the architectural grandeur of ancient dynasties of that region. ITC Grand Chola will be a tribute to this ethos and its design will reflect the rich cultural diversity manifest in the gopurams of the temples built during that period.
- Echoing the credo of ‘Responsible Luxury’, the ITC Grand Chola will also be a judicious blend of the highest level of international green best practices with contemporary design harnessing the elements of nature to deliver inspired experiences to discerning guests.
- Performing to the highest standards of energy, water and waste efficiency, the ITC Grand Chola will also operate on wind energy.
- Apart from rooms, the complex will also have an auditorium capable of seating up to 75 guests providing an exclusive venue for special viewing of films, documentaries and premium interactions.
- The service apartments will cater to the needs of a larger cross section of local and international travellers, by offering a choice of one, two and three bedroom sets.
- The ITC Grand Chola has been designed by the U.S. based SRSS Architects while the external landscape has been developed by Belt Collins, U.S. The Hotel is slated to open its doors by end of 2011.
