2026-06-03

ITC Limited has been conferred with the Uttarakhand Government’s SDG Achievers Award 2025 for its holistic contribution towards SDG 6 – Clean Water and Sanitation.

The award was presented by Pushkar Singh Dhami, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, in the presence of Ajay Tamta, Hon’ble Minister of State, Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Government of India.

Through integrated interventions spanning Solid Waste Management, School WASH, Individual Household Toilet (IHHT) support, behaviour change communication, and community institution building, ITC has been working to create cleaner, healthier and more sustainable communities.

In partnership with its implementation agencies and the Government of Uttarakhand, ITC has helped drive transformative change on the ground—establishing community-led solid waste management systems through decentralised daily collection and segregation of waste, enabling its scientific processing, and fostering community ownership through Mohalla Committees.

The Company has also supported the construction of IHHTs in collaboration with SWAJAL, Government of Uttarakhand, while advancing structured waste management practices through the Green Temple Programme to help create cleaner, litter-free pilgrimage spaces.

This recognition reflects the power of collaborative action in advancing sustainable development and building resilient communities where improved sanitation, responsible waste management, and community participation come together to create lasting impact.
