ITC's #1 Rank: Business World India's Most Sustainable Companies (IMSC) - Conglomerates Sector

We are pleased to announce that ITC has been ranked No. 1 in the 5th Edition of Business World India’s Most Sustainable Companies (IMSC) Ranking under the Conglomerates Sector. We ranked 6th overall amongst India’s most sustainable companies. The rankings were unveiled at the 8th Sustainable World Conclave, hosted by BW Sustainability World and BW Businessworld in New Delhi.

The conclave was held under the theme “India’s Green Imperative - Scaled & Inclusive Action,” bringing together policymakers, corporate leaders, and sustainability experts to examine governance frameworks, supply chain challenges, technology adoption, and the emerging climate economy. The platform combines sectoral dialogue with a national benchmarking exercise aimed at strengthening accountability and transparency across industries.

The BW IMSC rankings provide a structured framework to assess how organisations integrate sustainability into governance, operations, innovation, and long-term planning. The selection followed a rigorous, multi-stage evaluation process designed to recognise corporate leadership in environmental and social performance.

The two-phase evaluation framework consisted of an India-centric ESG and Business Responsibility and Sustainability Reporting (BRSR) framework, aligned with CRISIL methodology, along with an Independent Advisory Council evaluating firms on environmental, social, governance, innovation, and strategic commitment parameters, ensuring a balanced and credible evaluation.

The strategic leadership and sustainability leadership councils comprised renowned industry stalwarts from various Indian companies.

This recognition reflects ITC’s commitment towards sustainability-led innovation, and responsible, future-ready business practices.
