ITC's FSA 3.0 Silver Benchmark - Sustainable Agriculture

2026-04-15

ITC is the first company in India to receive the global FSA (Farm Sustainability Assessment) 3.0 Silver benchmark in wheat & paddy.

At its core, this means ITC’s Wheat & Paddy sourcing clusters have been independently audited against globally recognised FSA 3.0 framework by the Sustainable Agriculture Initiative (SAI) Platform with 190+ member organisations, dedicated towards advancing sustainable agriculture in the food chain.

The FSA framework is widely used by global food and agri companies to assess, improve, and validate on-farm sustainability. It covers agronomy, natural resource stewardship, environmental protection and labour conditions. This milestone was achieved by working closely with 3,500+ farmers across 70+ Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, bringing smallholder and fragmented farm operations-spread across 22,000+ acres-under a single, transparent, and traceable sustainability standard. It reflects the consistent on-ground adoption of better farming practices, along with stronger documentation and traceability. This has been supported by ITC’s Climate Smart Agriculture Programme and the phygital capabilities of ITCMAARS.

Beyond the recognition itself, this effort strengthens trust and transparency in the supply chain and creates a stronger foundation for farmers to participate in differentiated, sustainability-linked markets-reinforcing ITC’s commitment to building transparent, resilient, and farmer-centric value chains, while scaling sustainability with credibility and impact.
