The Hon'ble Supreme Court of India has today (September 10, 2004) pronounced judgement in favour of ITC Limited on the Appeals before the Court on the Excise Dispute for the period 1983 to 1987. The Court, inter alia, set aside the demand made by the Excise authorities against the Company. Further, the Excise Department's appeal has been dismissed.
