….Earns recognition for India!
Bukhara : Best Restaurant in Asia, Best Indian Restaurant in the World

Each year, RESTAURANT magazine, arguably the last word in global cuisine, nominates the 50 finest restaurants in the world. The chosen ones are limited in number and represent the culinary excellence in taste, service and style. Expectedly, just the very refined restaurants create and become part of history.

The 2004 RESTAURANT List credits only One Indian Restaurant with this achievement: Bukhara at ITC Maurya Sheraton in New Delhi. Bukhara has also been voted The Best Restaurant in Asia!

The RESTAURANT honours were presented by the renowned restaurateur Sir Terence Conran, at the Royal Exchange in Central London; voted for by an international panel of 300 restaurateurs, chefs, critics and journalists.

The judges for the 2004 Awards consisted of the high priests and priestess of global gastronomy. They include names such as Gordon Ramsay, Antonio Carluccio and Angela Hartnett.

From being declared Best Indian Restaurant in the world (for the third consecutive year) to Best Restaurant in Asia, Bukhara is now also in the much cherished list of 50 Best Restaurants in the World.

Credited with popularity the rugged tandoori cuisine of the northwest frontier province, Bukhara has been a trendsetter in more ways than one.

Bukhara’s success lies in the kid glove attention and direction by the management team of ITC Hotels, uniform level of service, the excellence of its cuisine, and the fact that the Master Chefs connected with the restaurant, have adopted it as their own. The menu has not been changed or added to in the 26 years since it opened, has also made it possible for chefs to become real specialists in their craft.

Bukhara, has played host to innumerable Heads of State and world dignitaries including Bill Clinton, Bill Gates,Bryan Adams, Tony Blair…So much that a visit to the capital is not considered complete, without a meal at the Bukhara.
