On July 15, the Wills Sport brand completed one full year in the market. ITC Limited had launched its Lifestyle Retailing Business Division with the Wills Sport brand of apparel, last year with the opening of the first store of July 15, 2000 at Delhi’s popular shopping centre South Extension. ITC’s Lifestyle Retailing Business Division celebrated one year of Wills Sport with the opening of a new showroom at the capital’s main shopping centre, Connaught Place on July 12, 2001. Located in the inner circle at E-2, the store is convenient for shoppers from North and West Delhi.

The national launch of Wills Lifestyle stores commenced on June 15th this year with two stores in Chennai and thereafter, others have followed in quick succession at Chandigarh, Ambala, Trichi, Coimbatore, Pune, Aurangabad and Hyderabad. The Connaught Place store is the eleventh Wills Lifestyle store. In this phase are stores at Pondichery, Mangalore, Ranchi, Vishakapatnam, Indore, Bhubaneswar, Emakulam Bareilly. Thiruvananthapuram, Kozhikode and Noida. The 12th store opened in Belgaum on July 14, 2001.

The two storeyed new store follows the design format of the flagship store at South Extension,where the Wills Sport brand was first introduced to Delhi’s discerning public. Designed by ADIG of San Francisco, the store offers a feeling of space through the use of glass and chrome. While TV screens run the latest videos, a conveniently placed touchscreen offers a peek into the entire range available in the store. The men’s section is downstairs, while a curved stairway leads up to the women’s range.

The Wills Sport range of garments are familiar to Delhites who shop at South Extension, Representing three moods – work. leisure and party – these are garments created to compete with the best international labels worldwide. Exciting new additions to the summer 2001 collection of polos, tees, cotton checked and Irish liner shirts, capris, trousers, shorts and jeans – in full cotton and lycra – rayon blends – as well as accessories will be available at the new store from July 12, 2001.
