ITC's leaf processing plant at Chirala, Andhra Pradesh, has won the Greentech Safety Gold Award in the Manufacturing Category for the year 2004-05. This is the third year in a row that the Chirala unit has bagged this award. ITC's other leaf processing plant at Anaparti, Andhra Pradesh, has won the Greentech Safety Gold Award for the first time this year. The awards are an acknowledgement of ITC's outstanding track record in the areas of Occupational Health and Safety.

Greentech Foundation, who have instituted this award, are a New Delhi-based non-profit organization established to promote education, training, research and dissemination of knowledge on Industrial Safety and Environment Management.
