Through crop and area-specific agronomic practices, ITC is enabling farmers to use every drop more efficiently with techniques like micro-irrigation, wider spacing, trash mulching, across 15 key crops, including paddy, sugarcane, wheat, soybean, and fruits & vegetables.
The result: improved productivity, lower cultivation costs, aligning with the Government’s ‘More Crop Per Drop’ vision.
Beyond the field, ITC’s Integrated Watershed Development initiative strengthens water security by harvesting rainwater based on recommendations of hydro-geological studies, ensuring water is conserved where it’s needed most.
The impact so far:
- Covered 18 lakh acres across 17 states
- Enabled crop water savings of 1,400 million kilolitres
- Established 36,000 water harvesting structures
