Gaurav Tayal took over as Chief Executive of the Matches & Agarbatti SBU in July 2021. Prior to this, he was the Chief Operating Officer of the business since March 2021.

An alumnus of IIT Bombay, Department of Chemical Engineering, Tayal joined ITC in June 2003. In the initial years, he handled multiple roles across engineering and manufacturing at Bengaluru and Saharanpur in the Tobacco Business. In 2011, he took charge as Branch Manager, Saharanpur overseeing plant operations. In March 2015, he became Head of Manufacturing - Biscuits and Cakes for the Foods Business, responsible for Manufacturing, Quality assurance, Design and Engineering Projects, Business Excellence, New Product Scale-up & Commercialization and Supply Chain operations. Tayal loves hiking, motor-biking and long distance running.
