ITC's Biodiversity Conservation initiative in Sarapaka, Telangana - a case study

Today is the International Day for Biological Diversity. ITC's Biodiversity Conservation Programme - implemented in collaboration with grassroots communities and local governments - is spread across 470,000 acres, covering 38 districts in 10 Indian states.

The programme is founded on three pillars:

  • Protecting biodiversity in agri value chains
  • Involving communities in landscape restoration & rehabilitation of degraded plots
  • Implementing nature-based solutions for the revival of ecosystem services
